The convention opens at 7:30pm on Sept. 2nd where the Athens Firehouse will be the setting for the Ladies Auxiliary's annual meeting and election of officers.  At this time, they will also hold their annual memorial service.  On Sept. 3rd the women will relax and enjoy their annual dinner.  Cocktail hour is 6pm followed at 7pm with a roast beef and turkey family-style dinner with all the fixings.  It will be at the Athens Firehouse and catered by the Quarry Steakhouse.  Cost is $25 and reservations must be made by August 15th.  On Sept. 4th from 5:30-7:30pm the firefighters come out for their annual dinner and meeting.  They will enjoy a buffet dinner with a meeting following at 8pm at the Athens Firehouse..  The cost is $23 per person and reservations are due by August 15th.  On Sept. 5th will be the Mardi Gras parade with this year's theme being "Firefighting Through the Ages."  Line-up is at 6pm with step-off at 6:30pm.  Trophies will be awarded followed by music and fireworks.  On Sept. 6th is the formal dress parade in honor of firefighters beginning at 2pm..
